Mrs. Elizabeth Russillo has been teaching at Smithfield High School for ten years. She graduated from Ponaganset High School and then went to Russell Sage College in Troy, New York where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. Currently Mrs. Russillo teaches Physical Science and Introduction to Engineering Design.
In her free time, Mrs. Russillo enjoys playing tennis and softball. She is married to Mr. Steven Russillo, foreign language teacher, and has two little girls.

Mrs. Samantha Armstrong Email
Mrs. Armstrong is a native Rhode Islander. After graduating from Exeter-west Greenwich high school, she earned a B.A. in Anthropology and Biology from the University of Rhode Island. After graduating and practicing archaeology for a while, she earned a teaching certification in general science from Rhode Island College. Mrs. Armstrong will be teaching physical science and biology, which she previously taught at the Urban Collaborative in Providence. In her spare time Mrs. Armstrong loves to sing, play soccer and enjoy the outdoors with her husband and son.

Mrs. Heather Buckley has a Wildlife Biology and Management degree from URI and a Biology and General Science teaching certificate. She is a master gardener since 2006 and became a member of the 4,000 footer club in 2012.
Mrs. Buckley loves hiking, scuba diving, horseback riding, volleyball, gardening and border collies. Mrs. Buckley teaches Physical Science, Biology, Aquatics, and AP Biology.

Mr. Paul Brochu is a member of the Science Department. Mr. Brochu teaches Biology and Forensic Science.

Mr. Jack Hurley is a graduate of Smithfield High School in the class of 1978. He graduated from URI in 1982 with a Bachelors of Science in Physics. He received his MATC from Rhode Island College in 1987. Mr. Hurley is currently taking courses to become of a physicians’s assistant.

Mr. David Thibodeau joined the Smithfield High School Science Department in 2013. He graduated from LaSalle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island before attending the University of Connecticut. At UConn, Mr. Thibodeau earned a B.A. in Chemistry, a B.S. in Education, and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction. He has previously taught at E.O. Smith High School and East Hartford High School, both in Connecticut, as well as Hampstead Secondary School in London, England. In the 2013-2014 school year, he will be teaching CP Chemistry and Technical Science.
